Website Design for Small Businesses: Custom WordPress Sites

Ambition Business Solutions designs and builds custom WordPress websites for businesses in Greater Cincinnati and across the U.S. Every site is fast on a phone, built with SEO and AI search basics, and easy for your team to edit. Websites start at $2,900 with payment plans available, and the site is yours once it’s paid.

Websites, explained

What makes a small business website actually work?

A website that brings in business does four things: it loads fast on a phone, it tells a visitor in seconds what you do and where, it makes calling or booking effortless, and it gives Google and AI assistants clear, structured information to rank and quote. Plenty of sites that look fine still miss two or three of those.

We build on WordPress with Elementor because it gives you full ownership and the most control over SEO and AI search. Already on Wix or Squarespace and happy with it? We can improve the site you have instead of forcing a move. Based in the Cincinnati area? See Cincinnati web design.

Looking to hire a web designer? With us you work directly with Michelle, the way you would with a freelance web designer, with an agency’s process, care plans and SEO behind you. Every price is published, so you know the cost before the first call.

What should every small business website include?

Standard on every package, not an upsell.

Titles, descriptions and schema on every page

Google Analytics, Search Console and Bing set up

Contact forms and click-to-call

What should you avoid when hiring a web designer?

The things that make owners regret a website.

A copy-paste template

A site only we can edit

A site you don’t own once it’s paid

Built to rank and convert

How do you build a website that ranks on Google and gets quoted by AI?

SEO and AI readiness are built in from the first page, not bolted on later. This is what goes into every build.

Fast, mobile-friendly websites

Pages built to pass Core Web Vitals: quick loading (LCP), fast response to taps (INP) and no layout jumps (CLS).

Schema markup and AI readability

Business, service and FAQ schema, an llms.txt file, and clean, semantic HTML that Google and AI tools read correctly.

Websites designed to convert visitors into calls

Clear headlines, proof near the top, short forms, click-to-call and booking, so visitors turn into calls.

Accessible website design

Readable contrast, keyboard navigation and screen-reader-friendly structure, plus legal pages and cookie consent through Termageddon (we’re a Termageddon affiliate).

What we do

What website design services do you offer?

New builds, improvements to the site you already have, and the care that keeps it fast and secure.

Custom website design

Custom WordPress and Elementor sites designed around your brand and your customers, from 5 to 25 pages.

WordPress and Elementor development

Lean builds with few plugins, reusable templates and an editing setup your team can run without breaking anything.

Landing pages and conversion fixes

One-page landing pages for ads and campaigns at $1,500, plus conversion fixes on pages that already get traffic: headlines, forms, proof and calls to action.

Core Web Vitals and site speed

Slow site? We fix LCP, INP and CLS at the code level, including images, scripts, caching and fonts, so pages load fast for real visitors.

How much does a website cost for a small business?

Our custom WordPress websites are $2,900 for a Starter Site (up to 5 pages), $5,900 for a Growth Site (up to 12 pages) and from $12,500 for an Authority Site (up to 25 pages). A one-page landing page is $1,500. Hosting and maintenance care plans start at $129 a month.

Look at sites they’ve built, ask who owns the site and the content when it’s done, and get the price and what’s included in writing. With us, you start with a free 30-minute call, get a written quote based on our published prices, and own the site once it’s paid in full. See websites we’ve built.

A freelancer usually gives you direct access and a lower price. An agency usually gives you a set process, backups and support after launch. We give you both: you work directly with Michelle, and your site comes with a set process, care plans and SEO built in.

Our prices are published: $1,500 for a one-page landing page, $2,900 for a Starter Site (up to 5 pages), $5,900 for a Growth Site (up to 12 pages) and from $12,500 for an Authority Site. You can put 25% down and pay the rest over up to 12 months. See our website cost guide.

Our Starter Site is $2,900 with a payment plan, which puts a custom WordPress site within reach of most small businesses. We don’t sell cheap templates, because a site that doesn’t bring in calls isn’t a bargain at any price.

It depends on how many pages you need, how quickly content and approvals come back, and what the site connects to. We agree the schedule with you before the build starts, so you know exactly what to expect.

Yes. Once it’s paid in full, the site is yours to keep or move, including the design and the content.

Yes. Put 25% down and spread the rest over up to 12 months. There’s no interest for up to 6 months and an 8% plan fee for 7 to 12 months. A care plan is required while the payment plan runs.

WordPress with Elementor for new builds, because it gives you full ownership, real visual editing and the most control over SEO and AI search. We also support and improve existing Wix and Squarespace sites.

Yes. If your Wix or Squarespace site is working, we can improve it and run SEO and AI search work on it without forcing a move. New sites we build are WordPress.

Yes. We build with standard Elementor widgets so your team edits pages visually, and Growth and Authority sites include a training session.

Yes. Essential Care is $129 a month (managed WordPress hosting, updates, daily backups, security monitoring and 1 hour of edits), Business Care is $249 a month and AI-Ready Care is $449 a month. Keep your own hosting and any plan is $20 less per month.

A landing page is a single page built for one offer and one action, usually for an ad or email campaign. If you’re paying for ads that send people to your homepage, a dedicated landing page usually turns more of those clicks into leads.

Core Web Vitals are three measurements Google uses to judge page experience: Largest Contentful Paint (how fast the main content loads), Interaction to Next Paint (how quickly the page responds) and Cumulative Layout Shift (whether things jump around). Passing them helps rankings and conversions. Google explains them in its Core Web Vitals guide.

We build with accessibility in mind, and Elementor sites get accessibility tools plus Termageddon legal pages and cookie consent. We work to make your site as compliant as we can, but we don’t certify or guarantee legal or accessibility compliance.

Yes. Every site is built with SEO, local SEO and AI-search basics from day one: titles, descriptions and schema on every page, service and location pages for your area within your page count, a fast mobile-ready build, and Analytics and Search Console. Many web designers sell SEO separately; we build it in. Monthly SEO after launch is a separate plan.

Yes. Every site is built so ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and other assistants can read it. Growth Sites add service schema and FAQ sections, and Authority Sites add the full AI-search setup: answer-first pages and Person and Organization schema.

We start by reviewing what is and isn’t working on your current site, then build the new one around what works. Redirects from your old pages are included, so the search rankings you’ve earned carry over. A rebuild is priced like any new site; very large sites and online stores are quoted.
